What can be said about Lumière that hasn't already been said? Nothing, except that it's all true. Lumière is Vancouver's most desirable dining destination, a wonder of culinary magnificence and modern design. Named Vancouver magazine's Restaurant of the Year seven times, Lumière is mecca for epicures and the epicurious alike. Home to Canada's only Iron Chef Champion Rob Feenie, Lumière was voted Vancouver's Most Popular Restaurant by Zagat, has earned praise from culinary luminaries like Thomas Keller & Charlie Trotter and been the recipient of the coveted Five Diamond Award. Impressively, Lumière has gained international acclaim as the first freestanding restaurant in Canada to receive the Relais Gourmand designation, an honour reserved for an elite collection of the world's finest restaurants.

Behind every great restaurant is a great business team. Manjy & David Sidoo, co-owners with Chef Feenie, bring passion, vision, and business acuity, enabling the restaurants to push for excellence in every way. Skillfully combining European elegance, Asian minimalism and North American resourcefulness, Lumière sets the standard, where exemplary is de rigueur. Available as a 7 or chef's signature 12-courses, the acclaimed tasting menus boast dishes like sake and maple syrup baked sablefish, with kumomoto mushroom and soy-ginger froth. "Great food can only be made from great food products," says Chef Feenie. "Simplicity is much harder to achieve than any complicated cuisine." Chef Feenie is one of the most passionate pioneers of the culinary avante garde on the continent. "From the beginning, our mission was to put Vancouver on the map on an international scale," he says, "offering an experience that could rival the most distinguished destinations in Paris or London or New York."

Recently refurbished, showcasing a new look dining room and a world-class 'dream' kitchen custom designed by Tim Harrison of French Laundry fame, Lumière enters its 12th year with renewed vigour. The addition of Sebestien Le Goff, a deserving Sommelier of the Year winner, who brings consummate professionalism and enormous wine knowledge. The Lumière Tasting Bar is consistently voted Vancouver's best small plates destination, teasing guests with some of the gastronomic treasures found within.

In awarding Lumière its 9th Gold Medal for Best French Restaurant, one critic gushed "one suspects there is a mind reader on staff – at Lumière your needs are met before you realize you have them."
